By reducing prostaglandin synthesis, Celebrex aids in the reduction of pain and inflammation and is often prescribed for long-term pain relief.
Celebrex is not a traditional pain reliever. Rather, its ability to effectively alleviate the symptoms of arthritis, such as swelling, difficulty moving, and stiffness, is well-documented. The drug’s use in arthritis has been linked to an increased risk of heart attack and stroke, and is commonly prescribed to reduce the risk by up to 80%.
The drug is also used to treat ankylosing spondylitis, a condition that affects the joints of the spine and hips, and to reduce the risk of hip and knee injuries. However, it is not a cure for this disease. As with many pain relievers, Celebrex is used to treat the symptoms of arthritis.
Celebrex works best when it is taken for a short duration, usually between 14 and 24 hours after the onset of symptoms. This can make the treatment more effective, but it should not be used in conjunction with other medications that could raise the risk of side effects or interactions with other drugs.
The drug may also be used for purposes other than its use in arthritis, including:
When taking Celebrex, it is important to take a balanced diet with plenty of fiber and moderate physical activity. Taking these nutrients with Celebrex can help reduce inflammation and improve healing.
